NDIS Support Services

Independent NDIS Support Worker

Offering Independent Disability Support Services to NDIS participants on the Sunshine Coast.

Maaya has helped support people with disability since 2008 when she undertook her teaching degree. During her practicum she was drawn to helping students who required extra assistance which led her to undertake her final year at university studying special needs. Maaya then went on to undertake contract work in Special Schools before she went on to gain permanent employment as a special education teacher. During this time, Maaya completed a Master of Special Education and then changed careers to work as a trainer with a not for profit organisation helping young adults with disability to gain skills for employment.

An opportunity became available near her home town to help transition people over to the NDIS before it was rolled out. Maaya jumped at the opportunity to continue assisting people with disability and their families to gain the best outcomes and services available to them.

Maaya became an independent support worker in 2023 and continues to enjoy supporting her clients to access community, social and recreational activities as well as assistance with everyday living duties such as going shopping, attending appointments, cooking meals and general household chores like laundry, changing beds and washing dishes.

Maaya has experience in supporting adults and children who have disabilities including a range of mental health conditions, ASD, ADHD, CPTSD, Downes Syndrome, early onset dementia and physical disability.
